Steam Room Parts

If you have decided that you are going to build your own steam room there are a lot of parts that you are going to need. Some will be large parts and can be quite expensive and others will be small and cheaper. There will be a lot of scope in the price that you spend as with most steam room parts there will be some fairly basic models and then the top of the range items. It is possible to buy a kit and these will have all the basic parts you need and you will just have to buy the extras. This can start at around £700.

Steam Room Parts You Need

There are number of steam room parts that you will not be able to build a steam room without including:

  • There will have to be a generator to heat the water and this will probably be your biggest expense.  It is not very likely that you will be able to buy one for less than about £500.  They will not need a great deal of looking after and will not be in the same room as the steam room so you can hide it away in a cupboard.

  • Doors are also a necessity and this will have to be properly sealed.  Silicone is the best thing to use to do this and it will make sure that the water does not seep out and not only damage the room outside but make the steam room less effective.  These should set you back a couple of hundred pounds but if you are not worried about a budget there are some expensive ones.

  • Lighting is needed and there are again a lot of options.  If you just want a bit of light coming in then this is one of the steam room parts you can get cheaply.  If you want to have a particular design or would like mood lighting and lights that can make a design then there will be the chance to pay a lot more and get exactly what you want.

  • Walls and tiles – these are obvious items and there is the need to make sure that the walls are waterproof.  Tiles can be an expensive item if you want some well-designed ones, but if you just want plain white it will make the steam room much cheaper to build.

  • Seats- you will need to sit down while you are in the steam room or you will not be able to relax and as that is the whole point it would be a waste of time doing anything else.  Again there is a wide range in the prices.

Steam Room Parts – Extras

It is possible to get a kit that will allow you to use aromatherapy oils to make sure that your stem room smells nice all the time.  This is clearly not a necessity but is a good thing to get if you can afford it.  They can be easy to fit and what could be nicer than relaxing surrounded by your favourite fragrance?  Other optional steam room parts include radio and speaker equipment, a telephone and steam room towels.
